We are delighted to report that our Forget-Me-Not Café has been awarded the Hartley Wintney Parish Council's coveted Royal British Legion Cup for a voluntary group who has made an important contribution towards the life of the village during the last year. In presenting the cup to Judy Giles and our other volunteers who were able to attend, Cathy Roberts, the Parish Council Chairman said,
"Under the umbrella of the Hartley Wintney Voluntary Care Group, with the support of Mothers’ Union, The Alzheimer’s Society and members of St. John’s, The Forget-Me-Not Café offers a warm welcome to people living with dementia, their family, carers and friends. Since September 2014 a dedicated team of volunteers has run this hugely successful and well acclaimed café every Tuesday afternoon in St John’s Church Centre. Anyone is welcome to drop into the café.
The service is provided free of charge thanks to the generous support of some of our local organisations. We are very lucky to have the Forget-Me-Not Café in the village and I would like to thank all of the volunteers for the fantastic job they do."
