Saturday 29 October saw the launch of our Digital Inclusion initiative at the Victoria Hall, aimed at encouraging people who have never used a computer or smartphone before, to see what they can do with them, without having to go to the expense of buying anything for themselves. It was also to help people, who already have any form of device, with any software problems they may have and to introduce them to new things that they might find useful.
We were delighted to welcome 12 people along to this initial session and were able to provide assistance to those with phones, laptops and notebooks, whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. Arrangements will be made to visit one attendee, who has a desktop PC, to help with new things that they want to learn how to do.
From this initial session, it is clear that there is a lot more to do and details of future activities will be published in 'Contact' and advertised on the noticeboards dotted around the village.
