March 20 saw us help one of our clients with our first shop and three days later we collected our first prescription from Lloyds Pharmacy in Hartley Wintney.

After a full month we have now assisted 101 people. In addition to Lloyds we have also been to  collect prescriptions from the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke and Frimley Park Hospital as well as pharmacies in Morrisons in Fleet and Whitewater Health and Boots in Hook. Our team of DBS checked volunteers are delighted to have been able to assist so many people. We have shopped in Fleet, Hartley Wintney, Hook and Yateley and strive, wherever possible, to minimise the exposure to risk of our volunteers by them picking things up for people when they are doing their family shop.

As it seems as if we are  in for the long haul; when it comes to assisting the over 70s and those with underlying health conditions, it is good to hear that people are looking out for one another in many local streets, which means that we should continue to be able to meet the needs of those who do not have the benefit of good neighbours to help them.
